Curated by Alasdair Foster

Looking back to the sixties and seventies Peacock Variations explores the revolution in men's clothing following the conservatism of the post-war period: from the 'genderless' hippie to the trendy guy about town to the hyper-masculine urban tribesman. Made by some of Australia's leading photographers of the time these mages explore men's clothing as more than simple fashion. What a man wore became a statement of allegiance to social and political ideals.
