Courageous, camp, curious - this exhibition showcases the work of twelve gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender artists from across Australia in an exploration of the shifting expressions of sexual identity in contemporary photography. At a time when our consumer culture continually folds the marginal back into the mainstream, what does it mean to be an artist and Queer? Be it the playful popster or the classical aesthete, the postmodern goddess or the boy next door, these artists celebrate diverse experiences and understandings of gayness in their art. Re-identifications is seriously sexy, glamorously political and all Queer.
